20th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party Raised $5.25 Million for the Fight Against HIV/AIDS

On February 26 2012, the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, hosted by Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a gala that took place at West Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, raising an impressive $5.25 Million for the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The only-by-invitation attendees included some of the biggest names of the entertainment industry .

Guests arrived at the Academy Awards Viewing Party for cocktails followed by a gala dinner and viewing of the 84th Academy Awards telecast. 

The dinner was followed by a lively auction of items and services that included a tennis lesson with Rafael Nadal, which sold for $190,000, in-home cooking lessons with Iron Chef Cat Cora sold for $ 100,000, the opportunity to join Elton John and David Furnish at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party that sold for $ 230,000 among others.
